Section 2.1 Objectives

Objectives are divided into Quantitative & Environmental Justice objectives.

Subsection 2.1.1 Mathematical/Quantitative Objectives

By the end of the module, students will be able to:

  1. Identify the different types of data.

  2. Determine the best way to visualize data, based on their types.

  3. Display numerical data in plots on a number line, including scatter plots, histograms, and box plots. CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.6.SP.B.4 1

  4. Summarize numerical data sets in relation to their context.CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.6.SP.B.5 2

  5. Describing the nature of the attribute under investigation, including how it was measured and its units of measurement. CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.6.SP.B.5.B 3

  6. Giving quantitative measures of center (median and/or mean) and variability (interquartile range and/or mean absolute deviation), as well as describing any overall pattern and any striking deviations from the overall pattern with reference to the context in which the data were gathered. CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.6.SP.B.5.C 4

Subsection 2.1.2 Environmental Justice Objectives
