Hi! I am Rebecca Doyle. My capstone project, Bimboland, is a reaction to the resurgence of y2k fashion and culture as an act of radical and uninhibited personal expression. My research on reclaiming femme expression from the male gaze led me to research the rise of the bimbo. For women, gender-nonconforming, queer, and feminine individuals, the embrace of the bimbo aesthetic and philosophy is a recognition of the exhaustion of performance for a conformist society. Bimboland is a collaborative project that acts as a brazen siren call. How might we use hyper-femininity as a tool for intersectional feminism?.
